Finding Threshold

We spent 12 minutes working on determining threshold for Rooster, Miller and Webster.

Briann and Miller, Karen and Webster, Lily and I were already in the classroom and settled at the far end when Cathy and Rooster entered through the door at the opposite end of the room.

As you will see in the video, we stretched the x-pen across the entire room. Cathy and Rooster remained behind the x-pen for the entire session.

Both Miller and Rooster played the "Look at That" game and were clicked and treated whenever they looked at each other and acted appropriately (no barking, no pulling). That was the ONLY criteria for Rooster.

Using the floor tiles as gauges for moving progressively nearer to Rooster's end of the room, Briann Doodled with Miller. For the majority of the exercise, Webster and Lily remained in their crates.

Briann and Miller periodically moved close to Rooster, at first one foot at a time and then, only six inches at a time. When they got within 6' of the x-pen, Briann and Miller sat in a chair and were able to successfully complete Level 1 behaviors. Rooster was calmly doing Level 1 behaviors at the same time.

Karen and Webster eventually joined in, Doodling at the furthest point from Cathy and Webster.

NOTE: An interesting aside. With all the clicking going on, each dog responded only to the clicks given by his own trainer.
